The Word tells us we have become God’s children through Christ (Romans 8:15-17; Ephesians 2:13). Like any good Father, it’s against His nature to give you something that is harmful, even if you deeply desire it. His ways and thoughts are higher, in the same way a parent can see beyond the current perspective of his or her child (Isaiah 55:8-9). He freely gives what aligns with His will, promising to withhold nothing that’s GOOD from us (Psalm 84:11). Sometimes it’s timing that makes the difference between a request being “good” or harmful for us, sometimes it’s the hidden things that await along the wrong turn that we can’t see. God knows the true desires of your heart. Once we come to trust the goodness of God, as His children, we can confidently seek His will and await HIS timing for every area of our lives. Don’t feel abandoned or forgotten, a good Father sometimes says “no.”
Allow God to be good.
He freely gives according to His will, promising to withhold nothing that’s GOOD (Psalm 84:11).
