Having been led by feelings for most of my life, the shift from FEELING and SEEING, to standing on FAITH and BELIEVING, despite what things look like, has been a necessary one. This is the walking by faith of 2 Corinthians 5:7.
I imagine it’s somewhat like a baby who is learning to self-soothe or sleep independently. They are being asked to mature, shifting from old to new. They ARE safe, their mother IS there, it’s just different. It requires trust; Trust that they’re not abandoned, faith they’re not forgotten. A trust that despite the change, everything that was true before still remains even when they can’t see it.
“for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]—” 2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” Isaiah 49:15 NIV
