Reading the Old Testament gave me a good understanding of the hearts of man, specifically related to idols (things we use as replacements for God). With revelation we see why the things God calls sin are sin (even if it’s accepted in the world) and how far we fell from where He intended us to be. The world system is perverse. If we could only see it. We must see it before we can repent (completely turn from it).
